Laura Sippola is a pianist and a singer-songwriter. She started to sing at very early age and climbed on the piano bench at the age of three. She studied in Sibelius Academy and received a master's degree in 2003. Before gratuating she also studied in G.B.Martini Conservatorio in Bologna, Italy. She's preparing now for artistic Ph.D in her studies.
Her debut album Sahara was released 2004. In February 2008 came out an EP Mieli, containing 4 songs. The following album Toinen was released in January 2009.
Her musical projects have reflected her huge affection on songwriting music. Laura Sippola has hosted a songwriting club with her ensemble &Tuki, where are played the very special selection of the Finnish high standard musicians: Peter Engberg, Tuure Koski and Kepa Kettunen. They also have performed a tribute to Joni Mitchell, the greatest. Besides the top Finnish jazz musicians she has had an honour to work with the top singer/songwriters.
She has written compositions for other artists, such as Club for Five, Rajaton and Johanna Kurkela. Besides her artistic career she works as a pianist and a pedagogue.
